Updating Exporters

Learn how to modify your existing DataFlowed exporters to keep them up-to-date with your changing needs.

Overview

As your data needs evolve, you may need to update your existing exporters. This guide explains how to modify various aspects of your exporters, including their configuration, schedule, and status.

Accessing Exporter Settings

To update an existing exporter:

  1. Navigate to the Export Builder from your dashboard
  2. Find the exporter you want to modify in the list
  3. Click the "View" button to access the exporter's details page

Updating Basic Information

From the exporter details page, you can update basic information:

  1. Click the "Edit" button near the top of the page
  2. Update the exporter name or description
  3. Click "Save Changes" to apply your updates

Modifying Export Configuration

You can modify what data is included in your export at any time:

  1. From the exporter details page, click the "Edit Configuration" button
  2. Make your desired changes to the configuration:
    • Update the date range
    • Add or remove dimensions
    • Add or remove metrics
    • Modify filters
    • Change data handling options (append vs. replace)
  3. Click "Save Changes" to apply your updates

Important Note

Changing the configuration will affect future exports but won't modify data that has already been exported to your Google Sheet.

Updating Export Schedule

To change when your export runs:

  1. From the exporter details page, click the "Edit Schedule" button
  2. Modify the schedule settings:
    • Change the frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or never)
    • Update the run time
    • Adjust which days of the week it runs (for weekly schedules)
  3. Click "Save Schedule" to apply your changes

Running an Export Manually

You can run an export at any time, regardless of its schedule:

  1. From the exporter details page, click the "Run Now" button
  2. The export will begin processing immediately
  3. You can view the progress in the "Recent Runs" section

Manual runs are useful for testing configuration changes or getting updated data outside the regular schedule.

Deleting an Exporter

If you no longer need an exporter, you can delete it:

  1. From the exporter details page, click the "Delete" button
  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Warning

Deleting an exporter is permanent and cannot be undone. However, any data already exported to your Google Sheet will remain.
