Connecting Your Meta Account

Learn how to connect your Meta (Facebook) account to enable data exports with DataFlowed.

Overview

Connecting your Meta account allows you to export valuable advertising data from Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms to Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, and optimization. This integration enables you to track campaign performance, audience insights, and ad metrics automatically.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your Meta account, make sure you have:

  • An active Meta Business account
  • Admin access to the Meta Business Manager or ad accounts you want to connect
  • Connected at least one Google Sheet (see Configuring Google Sheets)

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Authorization Failures

If you encounter issues during the authorization process:

  • Verify you have admin access to your Meta Business Manager or ad accounts
  • Check if your Meta account has any restrictions or security settings that might block third-party connections
  • Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
  • Ensure you're not blocking cookies or pop-ups from Meta domains

Token Expiration

Meta access tokens can expire. If your connection shows as expired:

  • Disconnect your Meta account and reconnect it to refresh the token
  • Check if Meta has made any changes to their API or permissions that might affect the connection

Missing Ad Accounts

If some of your ad accounts aren't appearing:

  • Verify you have admin access to those specific ad accounts
  • Check if the ad accounts are active and in good standing with Meta
  • Ensure the ad accounts are part of the Business Manager you're connecting

Next Steps

After successfully connecting your Meta account, you can:

  • Configure Meta data exports (see Configuring Meta Exports)
  • Set up automated export schedules
  • Create custom reports in Google Sheets using your Meta advertising data
  • Connect additional data sources for comprehensive reporting
