Connecting Your Google Account

Learn how to connect and manage your Google account to enable data exports with DataFlowed.

Why Connect Your Google Account?

Connecting your Google account allows you to export data from various Google services to Google Sheets. This integration enables you to:

  • Export Google Analytics data to track website performance
  • Export Google Search Console data to monitor search visibility
  • Export Google Ads data to analyze advertising campaigns
  • Use Google Sheets as a destination for all your data exports

Connecting Your Google Account

Follow these steps to connect your Google account:

  1. Navigate to Connections

    From your dashboard, go to the "Connections" section and select "Google" or click the "Connect" button if you haven't connected any accounts yet.

  2. Initiate the Connection

    Click the "Connect with Google" button to start the authorization process.

  3. Google Authentication

    You'll be redirected to Google's authentication page. Sign in with the Google account you want to connect.

  4. Grant Permissions

    Review the permissions requested and click "Allow" to grant access to your Google account.

    Note

    Initially, we only request basic account access. You'll grant access to specific services (Analytics, Search Console, etc.) in the next steps.

  5. Confirmation

    After successful authentication, you'll be redirected back to the platform with your Google account now connected.

Managing Google Services

Once your Google account is connected, you can grant access to specific Google services:

Google Sheets

Required for storing exported data from any source.

  1. In the Google Integration dashboard, find the Google Sheets section
  2. If access is not yet granted, click the "Grant Access" button
  3. After granting access, click "Add Sheet" to select specific Google Sheets for data export

Google Search Console

For exporting search performance data.

  1. In the Google Integration dashboard, find the Search Console section
  2. Click "Grant Access" if not already granted
  3. After granting access, click "Add Site" to select specific websites from your Search Console

Google Analytics

For exporting website analytics data.

  1. In the Google Integration dashboard, find the Google Analytics section
  2. Click "Grant Access" if not already granted
  3. After granting access, click "Add Property" to select specific Analytics properties

Google Ads

For exporting advertising campaign data.

  1. In the Google Integration dashboard, find the Google Ads section
  2. Click "Grant Access" if not already granted
  3. After granting access, click "Add Ads Account" to select specific Ads accounts

From this dashboard, you can:

  • View all connected Google services
  • Add or remove specific resources (sheets, sites, properties, accounts)
  • Grant access to additional services
  • Reconnect your account if authentication expires
  • Disconnect your Google account entirely

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Authentication Expired

If you see a "Reconnect Account" button, your authentication has expired. Click the button to reauthenticate with Google.

Missing Permissions

If you're unable to access certain data, you may need to grant additional permissions. Look for the "Grant Access" button in the relevant service section.

No Resources Available

If you don't see any sheets, sites, or properties after connecting, ensure that:

  • You've connected the correct Google account that has access to these resources
  • The resources exist in your Google account
  • You have sufficient permissions for these resources in Google

Disconnecting Your Google Account

If you need to disconnect your Google account:

  1. Navigate to the Google Integration dashboard
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Click the "Disconnect Account" button
  4. Confirm the disconnection when prompted

Warning

Disconnecting your Google account will delete all connected Google services and any configured exporters. This action cannot be undone.
